Who We Are

ALDA Delaware Valley NJ, also known as The Time to Hear is Here (sm), is a subsidiary group of ALDA Inc., Association for Late-Deafened Adults, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. As part of our community support initiatives, ALDA Delaware Valley NJ operates as an advocacy group staffed by dedicated volunteers. We offer research, education, and consulting services to the hearing-impaired, particularly seniors, at no cost, with a focus on treatment options involving hearing aids. Additionally, we provide valuable resources to operators of public venues, helping them enhance accessibility for their hearing-impaired visitors or members by implementing hearing assistive systems or devices.

Our Mission

To provide unbiased facts and advice to the hearing impaired, especially seniors, as well as to venue managers and operators on various hearing assistive systems and devices, aldadelval focuses on community support. As a non-profit organization, we are not selling any products or services, such as hearing aids or other hearing assistive devices, and we have no financial or operational interests or ties with manufacturers, dealers, or dispensers. Furthermore, we receive no compensation or commissions from these entities.

Our Educational Services - The Presentation

A principal part of our educational services is a PowerPoint presentation titled The Time to Hear is Here (sm) that we offer to senior residences, 55+ communities, senior centers, libraries, civic and religious groups, as well as through our non-profit organization, ALDA Delaware Valley NJ. In this presentation, you will learn about:

- what's new in scientific studies of hearing loss, including surprising new data on the prevalence of hearing problems among the elderly,

- why Medicare should cover hearing aids,

- the latest advancements in hearing technology, including OTC hearing aids and Auracast (tm) by Bluetooth (R) for venues,

- new cell phone apps, recommended features, brands, and retailers, shopping tips, getting organized, and more, all aimed at enhancing community support for individuals with hearing challenges.

Help Our Cause

As a non-profit organization, we have never charged a fee for our presentations, and we aim to maintain that practice. However, we do incur costs related to their development and delivery, such as printing handouts, maintaining our website, postage, travel, supplies, and various telephone and computer expenses. We greatly appreciate community support, and even small donations can make a significant difference, as they are tax deductible.
